SEO Marketing Tools That I Personally Use On A Regular Basis

SEO Tools For Website Analysis

The wonderful thing about search engine optimization (SEO), is that there are so many tools available at your fingertips to help you monitor and improve your overall SEO efforts.

SEO marketing tools are continuing to get more advanced, detailed and accurate, which can alleviate some of the complexity that comes with properly optimizing websites for search.

SEO Marketing Tools

However, it’s important that you find the right mix of tools that aligns with your goals and your aspirations.

Below are the SEO tools that I personally use on a regular basis.

There are hundreds (if not thousands) of other powerful marketing tools to choose from online…if there are any

that you use, that are worth checking out, please feel free to leave them in the comments section below.

My Favorite SEO Marketing Tools (In No Particular Order)

1.) Screaming Frog This is a unique SEO spider and website crawling tool where you are able to scrape out any website/URL to gain additional insight and analyze onsite SEO elements.  Screaming Frog is excellent for checking things like Title Tags, Meta Descriptions, H1 Tags, Image ALT Tags, 301 redirects, 404 errors, canonical tags and much more.  There are also more advanced reports you can pull as well. One of my favorites is identifying unnecessary redirect chains for websites that have too many redirects in place. Feel free to explore Screaming Frog more on your own, I would not be able to do my SEO work without it. Absolutely amazing tool.

2.) MOZMOZ is a powerful platform that allows you to keep track of your search engine rankings, monitor important crawl issues related to your website, analyze link metrics (backlinks, competitor backlinks) and much more. The team behind MOZ really knows what they’re doing when it comes to SEO, and the software they’ve built is extremely helpful whether you’re doing SEO for yourself or other companies. Being able to track your rankings effectively will ultimately help you increase your position in Google overtime as well as bring in more organic traffic. If you haven’t tried MOZ yet, you need to take it for a spin.

3.) Ahrefs.comAhrefs provides all the necessary tools any serious SEO specialist needs, including ranking insights, keyword data, in-depth backlink analysis, site auditor/crawl error data and much more. I find myself using Ahrefs more and more as time goes on and I especially take advantage of the comprehensive backlink features they have to offer. This is an incredibly robust SEO platform that can be very helpful in monitoring, maintaining and growing your or your client’s website.

4.) SerpfoxThis is similar to MOZ but on a smaller scale (and does not track crawl errors). However the reason I added it here is 1.) because I use it for some of my smaller accounts and 2.) it is a great starting point for someone who is just getting into tracking their search rankings. Serpfox has packages starting at $10 per month and allows you to track your keyword phrases and pull ranking reports.  It’s a really solid little rank tracking tool, and perfect for someone who is just getting their feet wet in terms of SEO (and beyond).

5.) Google Search Console– It is highly recommended that Google Search Console is set up for every website you do SEO for. If Google gives you access to these tools for free, it’s a no-brianer to use them to collect data.  Google Search Console allows you to submit your XML sitemap to Google, gain more insight on organic traffic, monitor crawl errors, check your index status, disavow spammy backlinks, analyze your search appearance and a whole lot more. It is beyond valuable for any SEO specialist and provides the information you need for a better optimized website.

6.) Google Analytics– Another no-brainer is making sure Google Analytics is set up on your website.  This allows you to track all of your traffic data, including total traffic, organic traffic, referral traffic, direct traffic, page views, bounce rate, average time on page, conversions and about a million other metrics. Google Analytics is powerful in comparing traffic year-over-year and month-over-month traffic to see how your SEO campaign is performing. It is also a vital resource to identify what pages are driving the most traffic/conversions and which pages need some work. Every website need Google Analytics set up, regardless if you’re doing SEO or not. Take advantage of all the free information Google is giving us and utilize Google Analytics to take things to the next level.

Now I do use other SEO marketing tools in addition to what you see above, but these are the core ones I go to on a daily and weekly basis.

Actually a recent SEO tool I’ve been testing is called Seomator, which is a very useful website crawler and auditing tool to help improve the overall SEO of your website.

Everyone will have a somewhat different lineup in terms of SEO tools, so it’s always interesting to see the variation from person to person.

If you use different SEO tools that aren’t on this list, please leave them in the comments section below…this could really help anyone who is reading.

How Many Of You Dread Monday Mornings? Please Be Honest Here!

Monday Rush Hour - Dreading Monday Mornings

Dreading Monday Mornings?

It’s a Sunday evening at the time of writing this post and this topic for today came into my head as I was in the grocery store (I know, of all places right).

Now I do not like going to the grocery store on weekends for the simple fact that it’s always jam packed and chaotic in there.

What inspired me to write this post was seeing so many people in the grocery store almost frantically shopping, spun out in a way and rushing to get their grocery shopping done before the start of the dreaded work week.

When Sunday rolls around, for so many people it’s not a true day off…

It actually involves doing chores and getting everything ready for another 40-60 hour work week ahead.

Trust me, I know because I still work a day job myself (mainly because I really enjoy what I do).

However, I also know that NOT starting a side-hustle on your own will keep you stuck in this pattern for pretty much your entire life!

Unless you are extremely smart with your money and strive for financial independence (this is also another way out).

Sound scary?

It’s okay to be resistant to another long and stressful work week…and especially Monday mornings…

BUT IT’S NOT OKAY TO NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND CONTINUE THIS CYCLE FOR ANOTHER 10, 20 or 30 YEARS!

Dread Monday Mornings

Meaning, working 9-5 Monday-Friday, having very little time for yourself or your family, never having much extra money and spending all of your free time doing unproductive activities such as watching TV, surfing Facebook, scrolling through Instagram etc.

It’s time to start striving for more…It’s time to start creating extra streams of income…It’s time to start living more on your own terms.

Hear me out for a second…

What if you built up enough of a side income from hustling your butt off on weekends and any extra free time during the week, that all of a sudden you didn’t have to work 5 days a week at your day job?

Maybe you’re making enough money that you only have to work 3 days a week…

Maybe you’re making enough where you can quit your job altogether…

Let that sink in for a minute, how would this shake things up in your life?

Even just having an extra day off from work could be life-changing…

This is the mindset I want you to start developing.

The mindset of building assets and creating options for yourself.

There is nothing wrong with working a job, but in the meantime you should be building your legacy as well.

This is the only way to get out of the rat race earlier than most people do and on your own terms.

So when you get that dreaded feeling of the Monday morning blues, instead of suppressing it, start using it to your advantage and as motivation to create more opportunity in your life.

I want you to live differently than 99% of other people.

Start a blog maybe and document your journey, your successes, your failures…similar to what I do here.

People really enjoy this type of content and can learn a lot from the process of seeing someone else’s examples.

So if you absolutely hate the start of a new work week, get anxiety about waking up on Monday morning, and feel no passion for getting to your place of work, remember that you have the power to change this overtime.

Stay patient, work hard and always remain hungry.

Your possibilities are endless.

I wanna hear from you…

Do you hate when Monday morning sneaks up on you after a nice weekend?

Do you spend your extra free time building your dream or do you waste it on useless activities?

Let me know your thoughts!

Master This Link Building Technique For Maximum Results (Seriously)

Link Building Benefits

Link building is an SEO strategy that I personally really enjoy doing.

Mainly because it results in the most noticeable improvements/movement for my blog and other external websites that I work on (this is assuming all other SEO is in place properly as well).

And by movement I mean increases in search engine rankings, organic traffic, engagement, conversions etc.

Unfortunately, link building for many people can be a very daunting and confusing process.

This is quite common actually.

There are many bloggers out there who write great content, optimize all of their SEO tags with target terms, post on a consistent schedule but hit a wall when it comes to link building…This makes them and their blog stagnant.

If they just mastered this one link building technique I’m going to share with you below, it could potentially sky rocket their results.

In this post, I want to go over one of the most natural, easiest and ethical ways to build quality backlinks to your website.

So what is the technique I’m talking about?

Guest Posting For Maximum Results!

That’s right, guest posting!

This is as simple as reaching out to other websites/blogs in your general niche and asking them if you could write an article that would be published on their website…which in return would contain your website link within the article, building you a natural backlink.

Other bloggers and website owners are constantly looking for unique and fresh content to put on their websites…and this is where you come in to help out.Link Building Technique

There should never really be a shortage of guest post opportunities (unless you’re operating in an extremely specified niche) because every website needs quality and consistent content….Remember content is king!

If you want more information on how to actually get started with guest posting, make sure to check out my article on “What Is Guest Posting?” for more details on the process.

One thing I’d like to point out is that you must remain patient with guest posting and link building in general.

Some of these websites you reach out to may take a little while to respond, or some time to publish your article but if you stick with this approach it WILL be worth it.

On the topic of patience, it’s also important to understand that if/when you do get a guest post published, it will take Google some time to recognize that backlink pointing to your website.

Don’t expect to see the benefits immediately.

Sometimes it can take a few weeks and even months before you really see your hard work pay off.

And I say hard work, because although this is a simple link building technique, it will take a little while to master the process from start to finish.

But when you do, watch out!

Link Building Benefits- Don’t Put This Off

I’ve already mentioned some of the link building benefits above but this will help bring everything full circle.

If you truly master link building and make it a main priority in your marketing efforts, the results can really be exciting.

Let’s take a look at the main benefits of link building below:

1.) Increased Search Rankings:

This to me is the biggest benefits overall of link building. When Google starts recognizing the backlinks pointing to your website, you really start to jump up in the search results. It’s exciting when you start hitting the first page of Google for relevant and highly searched keyword phrases….which brings me to the next benefit.

2.) Increased Organic Traffic:

As a result of higher search rankings, this will ultimately bring your site more organic traffic. I don’t know about you, but organic traffic from the search engines is my favorite traffic source.  It’s free, it’s highly targeted and sky is the limit with how much you can generate.

3.) Strengthens Overall SEO/brings everything together:

Link building strengthens the overall SEO of your website and really brings everything together.  It helps you rank for the keywords you’re targeting in your Title tags, H1 tags, Image ALT tags etc.  It also helps build authority to specific blog posts, web pages and your website in general.

4.) Referral Traffic From Other Sites:

Although not the main benefit, but an added bonus is the referral traffic you could potentially receive from having your article published on another website.  Depending on the popularity of the site, this could bring in a healthy amount of traffic and new readers.

5.) Create New Relationships:

Another great benefit is the relationships you build with other bloggers.  These are people you can possibly work with in the future, share ideas, tactics and strategies with. Networking in this industry is always important, and this is a great way to connect with like-minded people.

To summarize this post, if you master the strategy of link building, your website will thank you for it and respond over time.

This is one of the most important skills you can have in your toolbox when it comes to the organic growth of your blog.

Don’t take this lightly and more importantly get out there are start building some links.

It may feel difficult at first, but stick with it.

And if you need extra support, either contact me or refer to this post here.

What are your thoughts on this?

Have you had success with guest posting?

Have you not even tried yet?

Global Reach- That’s What You Get With Blogging!

Global Reach

So I wasn’t even planning on writing a blog post today but an important topic popped in my head when I heard a song on the radio this morning.

There’s various reasons why I encourage people to start a blog if they’re looking for a legitimate way to build either a part-time or full-time income online.

But one of the main reasons which I don’t touch upon often is that you literally have the power to reach people globally with your very own blog.

Now if you think about that for a second, it’s really quite remarkable.

A blog is something you can work on in the comfort of your own home, at a local coffee shop, sitting under a tree in your backyard and people from all over the world can be reading your content.

It’s pretty amazing when you take a step back and let that sink in.

The Internet has opened up so many opportunities for the average person to not just get started online, but to gain a global following in the process.

Never has there been a time where the possibilities were this wide open.

If you’re in your 20’s like I am (at the time of writing this post at least), our parents didn’t even have this privilege growing up.

Gloabl Reach With Blogging

This picture is above my computer desk to keep my mind open to the possibilities of online business.

To be able to fire up your computer, go online and start plugging away at your business is a complete blessing in my opinion.

And especially when you have no limitations in terms of who you can reach in the world.

I still get blown away when I check my Google Analytics account and see people visiting my blog from so many different parts of the planet.

It really puts things into perspective and gives me even more motivation to continue creating valuable content for my diverse group of readers.

You CAN reach people globally when you harness the power of blogging.

I want to drive this point home.

Because the ones who understand the effectiveness of this, can really start taking advantage of it.

We are currently living in a time like no other, and it would be foolish not to get in on the action while you still can.

Take a few minutes to truly grasp the idea of “Global Reach” and realize that you can have this too with a simple blog or website.

But you must get the ball rolling.

Don’t wait any longer…

Your audience is waiting!

Building An Online Business? Make Your Weekends Really Count

Starting An Online Business

I couldn’t tell you how many times I was looked at as “odd” or “lame” for choosing to stay in on weekends when most of my peers were going out to the bars, drinking, partying etc.

What they didn’t realize is that while they were out blowing money, eating crappy food and being hungover the next day, I was straight up hustling on all levels.

That’s right…I was reading, researching, learning, saving money, working on my online business and creating options in my life.

Now of course you have to have fun once in a while, but it’s important to realize if you’re building an online business and you work during the week, you must make your weekends count…big-time!

This means waking up at 5:30-6:00AM on a Saturday/Sunday morning to write a blog post, record a YouTube video, build a new website, or whatever it is that you’re working on.

Think this is crazy?Building An Online Business

Well I did this for years and years (and continue to do so)…Especially because early morning is the best time to get some serious work done.

In fact, a 10-14 hour work day on the weekends is very common for me (and I love it).

You can’t afford not to adopt this type of schedule if you’re building an online business.

I’ve come to the realization that not everyone has the hustle, motivation or entrepreneurial  drive in them to make this happen and that’s okay.

But those of you who do want something more out of life than your current situation, it’s time to turn your weekends into your slave.

When you find yourself grinding when everyone else is out having fun, you know you’re on the right track.

This may sound depressing to some of you, but if you want to build an online business and have an extra stream of income you have to work your butt off…simple as that.

My Challenge To You Is…

So my challenge to anyone reading this that feels that they’ve been wasting precious time on weekends that they could instead put into building their online business is to START NOW!

Seriously…

This Saturday and Sunday, set your alarm for 6:00AM at the very latest.

Do not make any plans and dedicate the entire day to working on your dream.

Create a to do list that you will complete for the day, with the biggest tasks first on the list.

Dedicate yourself to this lifestyle to the best of your ability over the next few months and eventually years.

Be intentional with the time you spend on your work, follow a proven plan and ride the wave.

You may be surprised by just how much you can accomplish…

What’s great about building an online business is that it can be done just on the weekends to start, until you gain more momentum and free up some more time for yourself.

As cliche as it sounds, it really comes down to how bad you want to succeed and more importantly the dreaded word for so many people…SACRIFICE.

What are you willing to sacrifice in order to build your business to the top?

For me this was simple to answer…

No more late nights/late mornings, no more partying, wasting money, eating bad food, relaxing or lounging etc…

It’s time to turn weekends into your greatest asset.

I’d love to hear what you think about this.

Are you currently utilizing your weekends in the most efficient way to build your online business?

What does your average weekend schedule look like right now?

Is their room for improvement?

How To Increase Google Rankings – Blogging Update (1 Year, 4 Months Into It)

Ways To Increase Your Google Rankings

My blog here is currently 1 year and 4 months old and is just now starting to show noticeable signs of improvement in terms of search engine rankings.

For those who are unfamiliar with the term “search engine rankings” or “Google rankings”, this essentially means where you are positioned in the major search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo etc. for the keyword phrases you are tracking.

I cannot stress enough that anyone who wants to start a blog, needs to be in this for the long-term!

The majority of people would have quit by the 3-6 month range (and even sooner), if they hadn’t seen any results by then.

But from experience, I know firsthand how common it is to not see results until 6, 12, and even 24 months into your blog or website.

Which is why I keep plugging along.

My first 6 months or so, I saw very little movement in organic traffic and search rankings.

Now that I have a healthy amount of content up, optimized pages and a solid amount of quality backlinks pointing to my website, things are really starting to ramp up.

What’s exciting about this process is that I’m documenting my wins here so you can see exactly what I am doing to get these results.

How To Increase Google Rankings

This latest surge I saw in search rankings has really come down to 4 main areas in my opinion:

1.) Switching my website from http to https– This is crucially important for anyone that owns a website or blog.  Please read my article in the link above to see why. Purchasing an SSL certificate not only offers security, but could give your website a slight boost in Google rankings as well.

2.) Consistent Content Creation– I post at least one article per week to my blog (lately it has been a bit more).  Content creation and generating valuable posts for your audience is key to success.  Content is king and you can really start to experience momentum with the more that you produce (and especially over the long haul).

3.) Optimizing blogs/pages with proper SEO tags and copy– Each and every blog post should contain optimized SEO tags as well as copy.  This will help Google better understand what keywords you are trying to rank for.

4.) Link Building- This really helps bring everything all together as Google loves websites that have quality links pointing to them. The link building I’m talking about here is guest posting, which is a very straightforward process and one of my favorite ways to build quality links (there are many other methods to build backlinks as well- feel free to test away).

The good news is, these four points above can be used for any website/blog as they are universal SEO strategies.

To help make even more sense of this, below is a screenshot of a particular keyword phrase that I’m tracking closely as it’s highly relevant to my blog and has a fairly high search volume.

How To Increase Google Rankings

You can see the significant improvement over the past month or so…when comparing say Aug. 31 to Sept. 25th.

In fact, I’ve noticed a similar pattern across most of my keyword phrases that I am tracking.

Again, it’s important to note that you must stick with the process of blogging and the steps I laid out above for months and years to come.

These positive “spikes” in search rankings came after 1 year and 4 months of consistent blogging, optimizing and link building.

That’s not to say I wasn’t seeing results prior to this, because I was (and making sales too)…but the people who realize that this blog will only strengthen over time, see the true power behind this.

So in order to increase your Google rankings you must be consistent in your strategy and patient with your mindset.

This is much more a marathon than a sprint.

Please take the time to implement these SEO techniques for yourself and see how they help your website.

So let me ask you now…

What other SEO strategies have helped your Google Rankings?

Have you seen success with any of the methods laid out above?

If you haven’t started your blog, what are you waiting for?

How To Make Use of Your Time- Optimize Your Life

Making Use Of Your Time

I know how busy life can be sometimes and the feeling of not having any extra time to get things done.

However, we all have more than enough time in our schedules if we want something bad enough.

This message is more geared for the person who is currently working a 9-5 job, has responsibilities at home and feels like they can’t find the extra time to work on their side-hustle.

I am here to tell you that you need to optimize your life in order to create enough space in your schedule to work on your dream.

Anything big that you achieve in life comes with a certain level of sacrifice.

How To Make Use of Your TimeIn order to create, run and manage a successful side-gig, project or business it’s going to take hard freakin work…simple as that.

But the biggest problem I see is that most people just flat out misuse their time.

These are the same people that “say” they want to start a business but 2 years down the road still haven’t taken that first step.

Or the people that instead of putting their nose in the computer, are on the couch watching the latest reality TV show.

Side Rant: Here’s a tip for anyone who is truly serious about making some extra money online…quit watching TV…It does no good for you.

Back to my point…

Most people talk a big game but are too lazy to put in the actual work to make things happen.

The good news is that once you snap out of this unproductive mindset, there is no turning back.

Let’s Give An Example of How To Make Use of Your Time

We will take a look at a very basic example to help paint a better picture of how you can make better use of your time.

Let’s say “John” works a typical 9-5:30 job at an office and has also wants to start a business online.

His current schedule consists of waking up at 7:00AM.

Showering, brushing teeth, getting changed…and walking downstairs for 8:00.

He shovels a quick breakfast down, says goodbye to the family and makes it on the road by 8:30.

He arrives at his job at 9:00 and works all the way until 5:30PM.

Gets home at around 6:00PM and helps his wife with dinner for the family.

Finishes eating/cleaning up around 7:30.

Heads over to the couch to unwind and relax and watches TV until 9:30.

Goes upstairs gets ready for bed and eventually falls asleep around 10-10:30.

And the process repeats all over again the next day.

How to Make Use of Your Time Better

Now I’m not saying there is anything wrong with the above example, however there is much room for improvement…

Especially if you want to do more in your life.

There’s two areas really where John in the example above can find extra time to work on his side-business.

For one, he could train himself to start waking up at 5:30 in the morning, that way he can dedicate an extra hour or so to his business.

I personally wake up very early and it’s when I get my best work done.

And for all the people saying, “that’s insanity, I would never wake up that early“….well my answer to that is that your side-hustle and creating more options in your life isn’t all that important to you then.

The ones who truly want it, will do anything in their power to get it….And if that means waking up before the sun rises, it’s a no-brainer.

The second area where John can improve/attack his side work is at night after he’s spent some time with his family and after dinner.

From 7:30 to 11:30PM should NOT be spent watching TV, surfing YouTube or scrolling through Facebook…

But instead should be time spent hustling, working his butt off, grinding at his business until his wife yells at him to come into bed.

It takes a person with serious hustle, grit, determination and patience to pull off this type of schedule day in and day out.

And is actually what so many of today’s successful entrepreneurs did before they really made it on their own.

Again it comes down to hard work and out hustling all the average people out there that are content with watching 2-3 hours of TV every night.

Work hard every day, stay patient and as as I always say…be in this for the long-term.

Lasting results take time to produce and let me assure you that there will be many obstacles along the way.

However, once you start making better use of your time, you will begin to feel and see the progress.

Make every minute count and work your tail off to create the life you want.

We only have so much time in our everyday lives, so make sure you are using it wisely.

Hopefully, if you’re reading this that you already make sure to carve out designated time in your schedule to work on your business…

If you don’t currently do this, I hope this post will encourage you to drop any excuses and get to work!

So let me ask…How is your time managed?

Are there any areas for improvement?

Creating Passive Income Online & Why It’s So Important

Generating A Passive Income Online

Creating passive income online can open up tremendous opportunity for yourself.

When you realize you don’t always have to trade your time for money, aCreating Passive Income Online major shift occurs.

Of course not everyone is cut out to create additional streams of income online, but those of us that “get it” most likely won’t be stuck at a job we hate for the rest of our lives.

Thanks to the power of the Internet, there are endless ways to generate a passive income that will do most of the work for you.

And the people who have enough hustle and are persistent enough will be the ones who reap the rewards.

Even if you don’t aspire to make a million dollars or quit your day job, learning how to create a passive income online can really shake things up in your life…and in a good way.

It Creates More Options To Do What You Want

One of the most attractive benefits of passive income is that it opens up opportunities that you may have never thought was possible.  Whether that’s working 3 days a week instead of 5, spending more time with your family, going to the beach on a Wednesday…whatever the case may be, having consistent cash flow allows you to explore the more important areas of your life.

It Helps You Live On Your Own Agenda, Rather Than Someone Else’s

We all know the feeling of being stuck on someones else’s agenda, which in return diminishes all of our spontaneity, creativity and motivation. However, when you start generating enough passive income for yourself, YOU call the shots and are in control. This is incredibly liberating and more often than not leads to even more success down the road.

It Puts More Cash In Your Pocket

Cash is king and creating a passive income online can really help you increase your overall income and net worth (that is, if you’re smart with the money you make). Whether that be a part-time or even full-time income, sky is the limit when it comes to generating an income online and extra cash in your pocket never hurts.

It Works For You While You’re Sleeping, Eating, Vacationing…Whatever!

To this day, it still never gets old waking up in the morning to fresh commissions online.  It’s important to realize that the right system can generate income while you’re not there actually working on it.  So you could be eating dinner, taking a shower, out at the grocery store, going for a hike and this thing is still pumping out cash. To me, this is true freedom and allows you to do what you love with very little stress.

Harness the power of passive income and learn as much as you can about Internet marketing to get a system set up ASAP.

Until you do this, you will always be on someones else’s agenda, never have any free time to do what you want and will feel exceptionally unenthusiastic about where your life is going.

It’s time to break out of this and start creating a long-term passive income stream that you can build upon for years and years to come.

One of the best methods to create a passive income is through blogging.

Is it 100% passive? No…and not many systems are.

However, it’s much more passive than working for someone else or punching in a clock.

And a lot more fun…Did I mention fulfilling too?

This entrepreneurial type of mindset may just take you places you never thought possible.

Why You Should Start A Blog? 4 Benefits of Blogging

The Benefits of Blogging

I believe anyone interested in entrepreneurship, internet marketing, working from home, starting an online business etc. should heavily consider starting a blog that they can build either a part-time or full-time business around (yes you can make a full-time living blogging if done correctly).

Why Should You Start A Blog?

There are numerous advantages of running a blog that we’ll briefly touch upon in this post.

However, it does take some initial work to get things up and running.

And it also takes work to maintain and update your blog with fresh content that both the search engines and your visitors will love. Why You Should Start A Blog

If you’re thinking about starting a blog of your own, make sure to set realistic expectations and be in this for the long-term.

Hopefully that didn’t scare too many of you away as now we’re going to get into why you should start a blog and the wonderful benefits it can bring to your life.

Why You Should Start A Blog? 4 Benefits of Blogging

Now this is just a small sample of the benefits that blogging can bring.

There are dozens of other reasons I’m leaving out for the sake of keeping this post short and to the point.

But these are just a few of the main benefits of blogging that come to mind when I think about my own site here.

1.) It’s a Healthy Outlet:

A blog is a healthy and productive way to release stress, thoughts, opinions, ideas, knowledge, or anything that you may not be able to voice in the “real world”. It’s your own platform where you can say whatever you want and write about whatever topic you wish.  This can feel very liberating and is great way to relieve some tension and get your thoughts out rather than keeping them all jumbled up inside.

2.) It’s An Online Asset:

You have to begin looking at blogging as having an online asset that is up 24 hours of the day, 7 days a week and 365 days per year…that is if you pay your hosting fees :).  This thing is constantly working for you in the background when you’re sleeping, out with friends, on the beach, playing golf, eating dinner or anything else.  You have to begin to realize the power and freedom you have with running a blog.  This awareness alone is a game changer and propels you in the right direction.

3.) It Can Produce Extra Money

Let’s face it, extra money never ever hurts and blogging can be a great way to produce an extra income stream and for some people life-changing amounts of income.  There are tons of ways to monetize your blog so that it produces a passive income for you for months and years to come. From affiliate marketing, to launching your own product, to building an email list, to allowing people to advertise on your site, to offering sponsored posts etc….sky is the limit in terms of income and there is no ceiling with blogging.

4.) It Helps Other People

Probably the most satisfaction I get from my own blog (and I know this is the case with many other bloggers) is helping other people succeed or even helping them take the first initial step in getting started.  When you provide your readers with incredible value, everything else with your blog just seems to fall into place.  Of course you still have to do proper SEO work, update your blog with fresh content, monitor any technical issues that crop up and much more…but one of the most important areas to focus on for the overall health and growth of your blog is to help other people by producing valuable content.

I hope this makes things a bit clearer on why you should start a blog and some of the benefits/advantages blogging has compared to other business models.

The biggest hurdle I see in blogging is simply getting started.

If you’re on the fence and are even somewhat interested in starting a blog, I advise you to read this post here.

You can be up and running within a day, no joke.

Do any of these benefits laid out above resonate with you in any way?

Are there other benefits that come to mind when you think about blogging?

Overcoming Adversity In Business – It’s All A Part of The Game

Challenges In Business

Setbacks or adversity in business are actually more common than you might think.

And especially for even the most successful business owners.

The problem is the majority of people expect their business to thrive and flourish without any sort of hiccups or hurdles along the way.

This type of mindset is almost always destined for failure because as soon as adversity does come up (because trust me, it will), many people panic and get paralyzed by fear.

Often times this ends up resulting in people giving up completely because they cannot handle the waves of the storm.

Adversity is a normal cycle in business and in life…and the ones who actually use it to their advantage are the ones who see tremendous progress.

Overcoming Adversity In Business The Right Way

Overcoming adversity in business will not only make you a better business owner, but it will teach you a lot about yourself on a personal level.

It will reveal your inner strength that you may have not known was even there to begin with.

When a challenge arises, you should always embrace it instead of resist it.

Immediately think of what this particular situation is teaching you.

Realize that with every obstacle comes a great life lesson.

And ride the wave instead of getting pummeled by it.Overcoming Adversity In Business

Sometimes our biggest successes come very shortly after overcoming an extremely challenging situation or failure of some sort.

And this is where the real growth and wisdom starts.

Once you shift your mindset to expect adversity to knock at your door at any given moment, you have really turned the corner and will be prepared with whatever is thrown your way.

There’s been times where I’ve personally wanted to “throw in the towel” and just take the easy way out when I was faced with adversity.

However, I had too much pride in what I did to give everything up for good (I am darn stubborn too).

And what I began to realize is that challenging situations or circumstances can sometimes be the very best thing for your business and ultimately your life.

It can force you to think a different way, or try a new strategy or kick your butt into overdrive to make things happen.

Whatever the case may be, it’s time to start looking at adversity as your teacher and not a monster.

This shift alone could make all the difference in the world for you.

Running a business and dealing with the unpredictability of it is not easy by any means.

But if it were, everyone would be doing it.

The key takeaway here is that the successful people are willing to do what other people will not.

And that’s stick it out through hard times.

Overcoming adversity in business is all a part of the game.

And the ones who win this game, are the ones who keep picking themselves up off the floor…gaining more strength each and every time.

Do you currently run a business?

If so, how have you dealt with overcoming adversity?
